New Software Discount Program for Low-Income Countries

Clark Labs, at Clark University, has announced a new software discount program for individuals and institutions from low-income countries (LIC). Clark Labs will extend a 50% discount on new licenses of its software products to eligible customers. Eligibility shall be determined by the country’s economic status on the date an order is placed. The list of LICs utilized for this purpose is published by The World Bank.

For many scientists in developing countries, the expense of software and hardware products renders them unattainable. “The needs of users in developing countries have always been of paramount importance,” stated Dr. James Toledano, Executive Director of Clark Labs. “We created IDRISI with the full understanding that many of our potential users were addressing crucial environmental concerns with very limited financial resources.” The TerrSet software is well-suited for their pressing environmental management needs and land cover change concerns.
